先日「Merry Christmas! ロンドンに奇跡を起こした男」なる映画を見たところ非常に面白く、特に大好きなジョナサン・プライスとサイモン・カーロウが出ていて嬉しかった。
友人に「小さいティムを殺すな」とアドバイスされたディケンズが「ネルは殺せって言ったくせに！」とキレる場面が好き。
ところで映画の中で頻出する「バー！ハンバーグ！」って何だろう。
と思いながらオーディオドラマ A Christmas Carol を聞きました。
ナレーター（つまり作者ディケンズ）がデレク・ジャコビです。
スクルージはケネス・クラナム。後半えらく明るくなって前半の意地悪爺さんとのギャップが激しい。
ジェイコブ・マーレイの幽霊がロジャー・アラムで声が良すぎるので毎晩出てお話してほしいと思った。
過去のクリスマスの幽霊がレンダン・コイル。幽霊の配役が豪華。
１７０年も前の物語と思えないほど、というか今はディケンズの時代よりさらに経済的合理性と勤勉に支配されているので、この本は全人類が毎年一度は読んだほうがいいですね。

「他の人が楽しんでいる何かを気に入らないときに発する」というのがイギリスらしくて良いですね。
