BBCラジオドラマ版のThe Left Hand of Darkness。
エストラーベンをLesley Sharpが演じている。
エストラーベンが女性の声で衝撃的。
とか感じてしまうのが自分の中にもある無意識の偏見なのでしょう。
ル・グウィンご本人もどこかで書いてたけど、ゲセン人って両性具有の設定なのに、男だけの惑星に読めてしまうんですよね。
自分を読んだのはロシア人のおじさんみたいな表紙のハヤカワ文庫だったし、おっさんばかりの世界ってイメージが・・・
ゲンリー・アイ役にちゃんと黒人のKobna Holdbrook-Smithがキャスティングされている心配り。
疑い深いアルガーベン役のトビー・ジョーンズが憎々しい。
２時間のラジオドラマなので展開が早く緊密。
音楽も良い。「Yes！」の場面は迫力あった。
しかしゲンリー・アイとエストラーベンが関係性を築く部分はもっとゆっくり聞いてみたかった。
BBCのリアリティ志向のせいか、俳優の重厚な演技のせいか、宇宙SFというより昔の東欧を舞台にしたスパイドラマみたいなところも面白い。
久しぶりに「闇の左手」に接して、アン・レッキーのアンシラリー・シリーズってル・グウィンを本歌取りした作品だったんだなと思った。
「叛逆航路」（Ancillary Justice）前半のブレクとセイヴァーデンの雪の中の道行きは「闇の左手」そっくりだし、セイヴァーデンを助けるためにブレクが自分を犠牲にして、二人の関係が永遠のものになるとこも似てる。
EstravenとSeivardenって名前も似てるっていうかアナグラム？
アンシラリー・シリーズで人称代名詞がすべて「彼女」なのも、ル・グウィンがゲセンを舞台にした短編でやってるし。
ちょっと検索してみたら相似性を指摘してる人はいっぱいいたわ・・・自分程度が思いつくことはみんな思いつく良い例。

Summary
